CJC-1295 with DAC is an endogenous peptide, a hormone that releases growth hormone, or GHRH. GHRH binds to a special receptor, namely the receptors for the hormone that releases growth hormone, or GHRHR, and blocks the production of growth hormone. The usual function of GHRH limits the number of growth hormones released into the body. This is due to the short half-life of GHRH. Within the same systems, CJC-1295 intercepts and binds to DAC GHRHR. CJC-1295 with DAC has a significantly longer half-life and therefore potentially results in longer growth hormone secretion.
